What do healthy lifestyle changes & breast cancer have in common?

by Christine on 7:54 am

Researchers at a recent conference in Barcelona estimate that 25-30% of breast cancer cases could be avoided with healthy lifestyle changes such as improvements in diet and exercise. The figures were cited from the International Agency for Research on Cancer which is part of the World Health Organization. These recommendations are in line with current advice that lifestyle changes such as smoking cessation, diet, exercise and decreasing sun exposure can play significant roles in reducing risk factors for certain cancers. Dr. Michell Holmes of Harvard University who has studied cancer and lifestyle factors agrees. She states that people incorrectly think that their risk of cancer depends more on their genetics rather than lifestyle changes.
